Beta Prototype
A Beta Prototype demonstrates the form/fit/function aspects of the product and is often a cost-effective way to simulate an actual product on a smaller scale or with less expensive materials.  By applying actual engineering principles, CAD drawings, and high quality rapid prototype equipment (a.k.a. 3D Printer), a robust and attractive Beta prototype may be built in-house. There are many color options, including clear or translucent.  Material variations are numerous including plastic, rubber, foam, fluorescent polymers, etc.  [back to top]

Fully Functional Prototype
A Fully Functional Prototype combines many of the techniques of a Beta Prototype and results in what appears to be an “off the shelf” product. The Fully Functional model may be used to demonstrate the product to potential licensing prospects, or to simply justify the decision to move forward with full-scale production. Finally, a Fully Functional Prototype may include electronic functionality, including software development or other multi-media aspects.  [back to top]

Production Sample
An actual Production Sample is for the inventor who wishes to go straight to the marketplace rather than licensing to another entity and receiving a royalty.  A Product Sample requires manufacturing level engineering to refine tolerances, material and color selection, packaging design, and more.  Ultimately, manufacturing costs are determined across a range of quantities, enabling you and/or investors to make informed decisions.   [back to top]

Virtual Prototype
Harshaw Research Inc. utilizes sophisticated 3D software to create a photo-realistic rendering of a product concept known as a Phototype™. As the name suggests, a Phototype™ is a hybrid between a photograph and a physical prototype and is an exceptional way of presenting a product using graphic design technology with only a minimal investment. 3-D Animation
A three dimensional photorealistic animation can bring a new product concept to life with only a modest investment.  Offering unique control over lighting, texture, background, and material properties, a professional animation provides a product presentation tool that may be sent over e-mail or stored on a CD.  We can provide you with examples of our outstanding animations.   [back to top]

Packaging/Distribution/Warehousing
Often accompanying the steps of obtaining product samples, HRI is experienced to consult with you concerning what to do after actually receiving your product samples.  For instance, we can make simple the rigors of importing, warehousing, UPC coding, distributing, and tracking inventory.   [back to top]
